There are so many different ways to do beadwork, that only the brain can be left to the imagination. Beadwork can be as simple as stringing them together one by one to design the items mentioned above or it can be as complex as designing wall hangings or pictures to making wearable clothing items.

Beads can be made from several different properties such as paper, glass, plastic, wood, bone or resin. They will range in a variety of sizes, from the tiniest seed bead to huge madallion sizes. They are also in many shapes as well. When you incorporate the various sizes and shapes together, you design something unique and usually one of a kind.

  1. Love this reflection on ways to design with beads. I just recently beaded a beautiful necklace with rose quartz, garnet and labrodite for my mother– it was a great meditative experience! Thank you, Ann
